Testimony at Washington House Hearing

Hey all,

wanted to get out there that I testified at the Washington House hearing on the Climate Action and Green Jobs Bill. I was one of two young voices, (the other being an incredible 2nd grader). It was a positive hearing and I let them know that the Youth are looking towards a postive future and fueling a growing movement.

Here's a basically what I said

I speak here today as a young person in this world. I am a single voice
in a rapidly growing movement of youth, empowering ourselves around
Climate Justice, and confronting the root cause of climate change.
I am a young person waking up to a world of unbelievable
imbalances. A world driven by profit that relies on social oppression
and environmental destruction. This is a world that is fundamentally
unsustainable.
I also recognize that this reality does not need to
exist. We are today, right now at a stand at a turning point in human
history. The climate crisis we face presents us with the greatest
opportunity of our lifetime. We can transform the fundamental
relationships we have with each other and with the natural world. We
can bring this world into a clean energy economy based on the power of
the people who have jobs that matter with strong, healthy communities
that we value.

The Bill today is an important step for the state of Washington to
lead this country and world to a sustainable, just and prosperous
future for all.

It was fun, I was bit nervous, but made the point!
