Right now, whenever anyone submits a group, project, resource, blog entry, event, etc., the URL to that piece of content is wecannetwork.org/node/[number]. Some sites, like Climate Challenge, have a module that automatically aliases the title of the node into the node's URL: climatechallenge.org/article_title.

Would people like to see this done?

It would make URLs somewhat easier to remember -- although you'd have to remember the article title, to remove words like "and" and "the", and not to add punctuation. But the URLs would also be longer -- blog/rather_long_article_title vs. node/202).

My concerns are that the aliases would not translate (once WeCAN supports multiple languages), there is a pretty good chance that they can break (override a site default and crash), and that once there are hundreds of nodes there would be hundreds of aliases, which would slow page-loading time.
