    About Us…
Compassion Advocacy Network, Inc. (CAN) was founded on March 3, 2003, by Reverend Johnathan Stanley and Elder David Hutcherson.  “CAN” was created exclusively for the purposes of providing charitable and educational funding to disadvantaged and at-risk populations with emphasis on residents of nursing homes, rehabilitative centers and children.
Our vision is to build Compassion Advocacy Network, Inc., (CAN) into a global charitable organization.  This vision includes a network of dedicated business’ and individuals who will ensure the mission is carried out locally. With your help ‘We Can Network’™ with people everywhere. We can break down walls and build bridges. Every day miracles can happen if we show simple acts of kindness and compassion to someone else who is hurting. Love is the miracle and we can make it happen. Just believe you can make the difference in someone else’s life and you will.

    Our Mission
Compassion Advocacy Network, Inc., (CAN) is a public charity founded to provide compassion and advocacy to disadvantaged and at-risk populations. We achieve our mission through charitable and educational programs for residents of nursing homes and inner-city children. Our focus areas are:

    Education
    * Provide mentoring and out-of-school programs that support at risk, low- and moderate-income students
    * Educate children on real life issues to increase their chances for success.

    Health and Human Services
    * Address needs such as hunger and homelessness
    * Help to ensure access to quality health care, particularly for low-income and uninsured populations
    * Help residents of nursing homes to be treated with dignity and have a better quality of life.

    Community Development
Form partnerships with businesses, organizations and individuals whose community minded goals align with the mission of CAN.

    Civic Engagement
Work to enhance the quality of life in Hampton Roads communities through events and activities that promote cultural diversity and involve public policy, community beautification, and civic leadership.

Achieving this kind of success requires vision, adaptability, and sensitivity to people’s needs, innovative thinking, and community responsiveness. Compassion for suffering people demands no less.
Remember, it’s not what you have; it’s what you have in your heart that counts.
